I purchased this on Kindle several years ago but the book is so beautiful and the stories well presented I recommend the book.
I adored this book! Suddenly I saw ancient India full of marvels like flying party space craft, magical lessons that the gods, themselves learn and show us, drama, contentment and colorful myths that were only names to me before coming to life right in front of my eyes. I chose to read one story at a time and savored each one like a magnificent dish!
Ganesha is legit
Loved it - read it in one sitting, then went back and read my favorite bits. The imagery is powerful and esoteric, full of layers of meaning, pervasive with love and compassion. Looking forward to more retellings of Indian myths from this author. This book is a keepsake treasure! Will be buying copies for family and friends.
amazing product
This is a great book for anyone looking for an introduction to the spiritual/philosophical and (sometimes whimsical)l stories of Hindu tradition. They are a pleasure to read on many levels. Kapur's translation is excellent; You feel she is reading to you...I bought the Kindle edition. I regret not buying the book. I have since seen it and it is beautifully done. This is one I would like to hold in my hands.
I love reading this book. I'm reading it for the second time now and I'm loving it just as much as the first time. When I close the book at night after reading a story or two, I go to sleep with a smile on my face and a happy feeling in my heart. I really, really love this book! Thanks!
I find it interesting to see where different cultures evolve based on the myths and legends of its people. Its also interesting to see how similar and different these myths/legends can be from culture to culture.
